Summary

It's been years since the Gray Man's first mission, but the trouble's just getting started in the latest entry in the #1 New York Times bestselling series。

Before he was the Gray Man, Court Gentry was Sierra Six, the junior member of a CIA action team。

In their first mission they took out a terrorist leader, but at a terrible price--the life of a woman Court cared for。 Years have passed and now The Gray Man is on a simple mission when he sees a ghost: the long-dead terrorist, but he's remarkably energetic for a dead man。

A decade may have gone by but the Gray Man hasn't changed。 He isn't one to leave a job unfinished or a blood debt unpaid。

A long drawn-out story about some of the early adventures of the character known as "Grey Man"。 There are stories of two time periods being told at once and they flip back and forth so often that at times it becomes hard to follow which story you're in。 The book would be sharper if compressed by about 1/3。 A long drawn-out story about some of the early adventures of the character known as "Grey Man"。 There are stories of two time periods being told at once and they flip back and forth so often that at times it becomes hard to follow which story you're in。 The book would be sharper if compressed by about 1/3。 。。。more

I'm a big fan of the Gray Man series but I didn't like the dual timelines。 It seemed a little disjointed。One gave us insight into Court Gentry's early days joining Golf Sierra as Six。 He is young and you get the feeling naive even though he is an assassin。 The other present day story has him running from the CIA with a price on his head (which is not explained in this book so you need to have read some of the earlier books in the series)。 While executing another odd job he runs across an old adv I'm a big fan of the Gray Man series but I didn't like the dual timelines。 It seemed a little disjointed。One gave us insight into Court Gentry's early days joining Golf Sierra as Six。 He is young and you get the feeling naive even though he is an assassin。 The other present day story has him running from the CIA with a price on his head (which is not explained in this book so you need to have read some of the earlier books in the series)。 While executing another odd job he runs across an old adversary that everyone thought dead。 As he chases him down there is a ticking bomb。 I expect we will see Priya in a future book since her hacking and technical skills are something that Court needs。 。。。more

I really hoped Sierra Six would pick up where "Relentless" left off, but in true "Gray Man" fashion this is an adventure not tied to the CIA drama that ended "Relentless" Regardless, this was a very good story and I loved the "Flashbacks" to how Cort became part of the "Goon Squad" I really hoped Sierra Six would pick up where "Relentless" left off, but in true "Gray Man" fashion this is an adventure not tied to the CIA drama that ended "Relentless" Regardless, this was a very good story and I loved the "Flashbacks" to how Cort became part of the "Goon Squad" 。。。more

SIERRA SIX is 511 pages of exciting, non-stop action! It is actually two stories in one novel。 One story follows Court Gentry's (Gray Man) entry into the six man Golf Sierra paramilitary group as Golf Sierra Six, replacing one of the members who had been killed。 Not an easy beginning for Gentry, as his cockiness causes immediate dislike from the other 5。 This continues on through tough, realistic training right into deadly action in Afghanistan, Pakistan, and India。。 The other story follows Golf SIERRA SIX is 511 pages of exciting, non-stop action! Sad with lost love attached but still all of the suspense and fight you get from Mark Greaney and his Gray Man series。 Two books or stories in one。 Really liked how he told both stories and mixed them together。 Not one part of the book had a slow or boring part。 All action and suspense。 The ending with the cliffhanger will be important over the next year。 Let’s see what you come up with。

Interesting Plot DeviceMr Greaney has written another strong book in the Court Gentry series, giving us new insight into Gentry’s life and motivation。 Dual plots unravel simultaneously, albeit 12 years apart in a gutsy choice than only occasionally gets confusing。

Great story, hopefully some more Six retro。

Stellar action, and loved the Mumbai setting。 The flip flopping between the timelines was a bit overdone, but still enjoyed a ton。

Great Action Book!I really enjoyed this book。 Greaney expertly weaved two stories from twelve years apart concerning Court Gentry with similar themes。

While both stories were excellent, I hated the every other chapter switch between present-day and 12 years ago。

Keep the G。Man doing his thing。 Court’s adventures do not get old and this latest book reveals more of his origin story than previous glimpses。 I hope to read book 40 abs still be as satisfied as I have been with 11 books in this series。 I just hope Netflix nails it in the upcoming screen adaptation!

Wow。 This is how a novel is done。 Greaney not only nails the story, but he perfectly weaves present day with a backstory taking place 12 years prior。 You’d think this would leave room for plot holes and glaring issues, but he nailed it。 Flawlessly。 Best Gray Man book yet。

Great read - as usualLoved all the Gray Man books。 When is the next book scheduled to come out? My entire family are fans of the Gray Man。 Look forward to the TV series。

Karen M。 Herndon

excellent novelI enjoyed the two stories running simultaneously。 One describing a very young gray man and the other one was present day

This is a great addition to the series。 The Gray Man continues to develop through ‘look backs’ throughout the chapters。 The story continues to move forward through modern day missions in the world。 If you are this far in the series, you’ll love this book。

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 The flashbacks every other chapter were off-putting, especially since they were the best part of this book。 The rest is your typical Gray Man fair (which isn't a bad thing of course) but the primary plot just left a lot to be desired。 A good read if you're a fan of the character (and I am!)。 The flashbacks every other chapter were off-putting, especially since they were the best part of this book。 The rest is your typical Gray Man fair (which isn't a bad thing of course) but the primary plot just left a lot to be desired。 A good read if you're a fan of the character (and I am!)。 。。。more

This novel probably deserves six stars。 Seriously, it was that good。 The author takes us into the Gray Man's past。。。and we learn a bit more about Courtland Gentry in the process。 The story was very believable and the character development was better than any previous book in the Gray Man series。 I was amazed that the author could make two storylines twelve years apart flow together so seamlessly。 If you've kept up with the series, be sure to give this book a chance, it's well worth the time spen This novel probably deserves six stars。 Seriously, it was that good。 The author takes us into the Gray Man's past。。。and we learn a bit more about Courtland Gentry in the process。 The story was very believable and the character development was better than any previous book in the Gray Man series。 I was amazed that the author could make two storylines twelve years apart flow together so seamlessly。 If you've kept up with the series, be sure to give this book a chance, it's well worth the time spent。 。。。more

Another Winner!I love this series and this was one great installment。 I can’t believe I have to wait a whole year for more Gray Man! Action-packed, great story (both looking into the past and at present)。 I very much enjoyed this look into Court’s past and how he became part of the Goon Squad。 (I also continue to have a deep love of Hightower, which was only reinforced by this book。)

Great dual stories I was a late comer to the Grey Man, but I have to admit that I love what Greaney is doing with this fantastic series。 I wasn't certain how I would like the dual story lines, Greaney did a tremendous job in weaving the story back and forth; not once was I confused about which time line I was in。 We are treated to the beginning of Court's career with the Goon Squad, we meet the team and find that Court wasn't the perfect fit he would become, and Court makes a new old friend。 Bot Great dual stories I was a late comer to the Grey Man, but I have to admit that I love what Greaney is doing with this fantastic series。 I wasn't certain how I would like the dual story lines, Greaney did a tremendous job in weaving the story back and forth; not once was I confused about which time line I was in。 We are treated to the beginning of Court's career with the Goon Squad, we meet the team and find that Court wasn't the perfect fit he would become, and Court makes a new old friend。 Both plots unfold in tense ways, the excitement is high and the danger is so real。 This is a fine representation of Greaney's books and maybe one of his best。 My only complaint is that now I have to wait for the next novel。 。。。more

I think this might be my favorite Gray Man book since the first one! Awesome to go back and learn how Court transitioned from a single agent (Violator) to Sierra Six on the Ground Branch team。 Greaney did a great job of tying that story from 12 years ago into a current world situation。 Close to giving this one a 5, but I can't give out two 5's in one month :) I think this might be my favorite Gray Man book since the first one! Superbly executed dual-timeline plot shows author’s technical chops & masterful control I enjoy Mark Greaney’s books, but this time, he shows off his amazing technical skills and does everything right to finesse the oft-dreaded alternating timelines。 Yes, I’ve read a lot of books with muddled multiple timelines。 Greaney has two confidently delineated timelines。 “Current time” and “Twelve Years Ago” have clear, clean transitions。 Greaney—unlike many other authors—shows us the history, settings, c Superbly executed dual-timeline plot shows author’s technical chops & masterful control I enjoy Mark Greaney’s books, but this time, he shows off his amazing technical skills and does everything right to finesse the oft-dreaded alternating timelines。 Yes, I’ve read a lot of books with muddled multiple timelines。 Greaney has two confidently delineated timelines。 “Current time” and “Twelve Years Ago” have clear, clean transitions。 Greaney—unlike many other authors—shows us the history, settings, characters, people, emotions that connect the timelines—and the DIFFERENCES which keep the timelines separated in readers’ minds。 Example: the same protagonist depicted as “young Sierra Six” is quite different in important ways from “current time Violator。” So much so, that I raised my eyebrows whilst listening to the many revelations。 Greaney’s dual timelines also succeeds, because he sticks with the plot and subplots in each timeline—without extraneous padding。 More, each timeline feels just about equally weighted—including plot points, length, action, dialogue, intrigue, villains, lovers, etc。 Listening to the audiobook, I thought Greaney mirrored the two timelines when he could, and the two timelines are well woven。 Overall, this is one of Mark Greaney’s best Gray Man books。 I highly recommend the Audible version narrated by Jay Snyder, who is brilliant as always。 。。。more
